I never fail to wonder about the amount of information that you can get from a crystal, and the possibility to travel into it. Every now and then (which is now and not then :) ) we'll take the scenic route into a crystal, discovering some of the wisdom it is willing to share and listen to its tale.
The first crystal to be highlighted is one I lovingly refer to as my “Ugly Duckling”, which in the meanwhile has turned out to be a very knowledgeable swan. This is how I came upon it.
I met it at a crystal fair, standing a bit apolegetic next to a clear herkimer diamond.
It was smoky, brownish, cloudy with all kinds of weird indentations and marks and very silent.
At that point I was a full-fledged crystal enthusiast learning about crystals all I could, walking with them in my pockets, tucking them under my pillow and engaging in conversations with them (those working with them will understand).
This crystal was intriguing in its not-being-flashy, its inobtrusivity and well, silence.
So I took it home.
It stayed silent for two and a half years.
I learned about the external facts of it, it was an Elestial Smoky Quartz (pleased to meet you), having some Limonite like inclusions, lots of encrusted glyphs and engraved marks...
But it didn't talk. Nope. It looked like it had encountered grave danger, major cataclysms, caught errr... between a rock and a hard place, you get the idea. So I decided to love it, no matter what came out of it.
Now suddenly, in a meditation, it kind of tugged at my sleeve and nudged "allow me".
Next thing you know this little fellow is buzzing in my hand and definitely doing something with my energy system, which apparently had to do with accepting me being me and the fact that there was darkness and foggy spots inside, learning to love them.
As I worked with the crystal, every time it would get more clear, sometimes immediately, sometimes overnight, sometimes in the next week. Some characteristics would be highlighted at times, and it became a brother in arms that would advise when appropriate. If not, it's still very good at keeping silent, but then I know I have to dig in and listen carefully to what I'm asking.
I found out that the Smoky Elestials have a wonderful weird sense of humour, sometimes telling you more with a raised eyebrow in a matter of speaking than with twelve pages of channeled info.
